AdWords is rolling out UPGRADED URLs for tracking parameters globally to all eligible campaigns. This new destination URL format will be mandatory starting July 2015. Google wants to represent an improvement in URL management with the retirement of “Destination URL” and the introduction of “Final URL”, which allows users to separately manage the landing page URL and the tracking parameters across various account and ad group levels. The final URL will consist of two fields:
- One field for the final landing page URL
- One field for tracking template parameters
To make URL management easier and faster, Google endeavors to update to upgraded URLs without resetting performance stats.
