By December 2015, fifty percent of online advertising clicks will come from Mobile devices, according to current growth trends. Using its own advertising index which consists of $6 Billion the report provides insight into all aspects of Mobile Advertising.
Google’s Ad Revenue from Mobile Expected to Increase to 30%
In addition to the rise in clicks, the CPC (cost per click) is rising at similar levels. Smartphone CPC rose at a sharper rate then desktop in 2013. eMarketer estimates that the combination in increased clicks (demand) and CPC (competition) will result in Google’s ad revenue from mobile devices to increase to 30% by 2015.
Optimize Website and Advertising Efforts for Mobile
Marin’s report is clear. Mobile is here to stay. Those who are not moving in the Mobile direction will only fall further behind. So what can you do to make sure you are on the cutting edge?
First, the experience needs to be user friendly. This means having a website that is fully mobile optimized. The more confident the user is with the experience the more likely they are to convert. Second, mobile ad extensions. Utilize some of the extra features a person on the move may be more likely to use (call extension). This also helps your ad ranking which is even more important for mobile devices where the user is even more likely to click on your ad.
